No Gym No Problem

Don’t have time to get to the gym today? No problem. no-gym-needed-image

You can get a very effective workout done without ever leaving the comfort of your own home.

Okay, sure going to the gym has it’s perks, like being surrounded by other people who are trying to achieve fitness goals just like you, which is almost always motivating, even if it only motivates you to do one more set because the guy or girl on the next machine has been watching you for the past 15 minutes. There’s also, all those neat, innovative machines at the gym, and using those little white towels that most gyms are stocked up on, really cuts down on the amount of laundry you’ll have to do at home (though I’ll admit, I never use even half as many towels during a workout at home, as I do when I’m at the gym)LoL.. Anyway, my point is that working out at the gym does have it’s perks, but there are things that your gym can’t provide you, such as privacy and the convenience of not having to drive anywhere or pack a gym bag before you can start working out. When you opt to workout at home you don’t even have to brush your hair if you don’t want to and you can wear whatever you want to without fear of judgment; like your favorite pajamas, those oh so comfortable hot pink sweatpants, an 80s leotard with leg warmers, or nothing at all. You just show up and show out, so to speak.

We all have days when we wish there were 30 hours in a day, rather than a mere 24 hours and we all have days when we just don’t feel like working out at all, and on those days, most of us are lucky if we can find 15-20 extra minutes in which to squeeze in a quick workout, after a long day at work. Or what if you only have time to workout in the morning, before you really even start your day. Adding the additional time it takes to pack your little gym bag and drive to the gym before your workout and then home again after your workout is finished, might just be more time than you have, thus you don’t work out at all that day. But, there’s a better solution.

Since a drive to the gym to workout on these days just isn’t desirable…Stay home. You can get a very effective workout done at home, I do it at least once a week myself. It’s very important to do workouts that contain exercises or movements that really target and isolate the muscles you’re wanting to work on, ie: legs, glutes, arms, etc. We want to get maximum benefit from minimal time. That being said, I’m posting several of my “go to” workouts for home. Some of them do require the use of exercise equipment like resistance bands and/or small weights. Okay, well let’s get started!!!

One of the best and most effective cardio workouts I’ve found is Billy Blank’s BootCamp Cardio Inferno.
